The earlier Seamaster 300M
Before the 210 references, the Seamaster Diver 300M had short numbers like 2261.50.00. This design has a steel bezel with engraved numbers instead of a ceramic insert, a black dial with the wave pattern, and skeleton hands. The date sits at 3 o’clock, where the current models have it at 6.
Quartz at Omega
Reference 2261.50.00 was made by Omega with a quartz movement in a 41 mm case. Whether the watch in our current batch is quartz or mechanical, the team confirms on request, and the answer changes how you look after it: a quartz watch needs a battery now and then, a mechanical one needs wearing or winding.
Old and new side by side
If you prefer the current look, the Diver 300M 210.30.42.20.01.001 has the black ceramic bezel and the date at 6. Our Diver 300M guide goes through the differences between the generations.
Crown and water
The crown screws down, and the Diver 300M is one of the watches our water guide lets into the water with the crown closed. Take it off before a sauna.
What arrives
The watch comes in protective packaging after you approve its photos. An Omega box and papers set is available as a separate item.
