A sailing edition
Omega released this Planet Ocean for the 36th America’s Cup, the regatta sailed in Auckland in 2021, as a limited edition of 2,021 pieces. The event name is printed above 6 o’clock, and the colours follow the race: white dial, blue bezel, red numerals and red details.
The bezel
Look at the bezel in the photos. After the zero marker there is a white and red section, and the word START is printed on the right side. You turn it like any diving bezel and read elapsed time against the minute hand.
Size
Omega sized this edition at 43.5 mm, smaller than the 45.5 mm Planet Ocean models in our range. That puts it at the lower end of what our size guide suggests for wrists over 19 cm, and it can work on an 18 cm wrist too.
Water and strap
It is fine in the pool once the crown is screwed down, and so is the rubber strap. Rinse both in fresh water after a day at sea.
