What sets this Planet Ocean apart
The 51 in reference 215.92.46.51.01.001 marks Omega’s self-winding chronograph version of the Planet Ocean 600M, which Omega makes in a 45.5 mm ceramic case. Orange is the colour that separates it from the red and Emirates editions with the same reference base. This replica follows that design, including the rotating bezel and screw-down crown of the Planet Ocean.
Using the chronograph and bezel
The pushers either side of the crown start, stop and reset the chronograph, and the watch is tested before it ships. The bezel turns so you can line its zero up with the minute hand and read elapsed time at a glance, a simple way to time a parking meter or a pot of pasta without touching the pushers.
Size on the wrist
At 45.5 mm this is a big watch. Our size guide recommends cases from 42 to 45.5 mm for wrists over 19 cm and names the Planet Ocean as the upper end of that range. On a slimmer wrist, a 42 mm Diver 300M is easier to wear.
Water and the 600M name
With the crown screwed down it can go in the pool, and it shrugs off rain. Keep it away from hot showers, hot tubs and scuba diving. The 600M figure belongs to the original’s specification, and for this watch the pool is the limit.
