The Dark Side of the Moon line
In our Speedmaster collection the Dark Side of the Moon models are the ceramic ones, and reference 311.92.44.51.01.003 is one of them. At 44.25 mm they are bigger than the 42 mm Moonwatch and keep the same tachymeter bezel. Omega builds this reference as a self-winding chronograph, which is what the 51 in the number stands for.
How to tell the references apart
The Dark Side listings share the start of the number and differ at the end. This one ends in .01.003; the black 311.92.44.51.01.004 and 311.92.44.51.01.006 follow the same pattern. The Apollo 8, 311.92.44.30.01.001 is the odd one out with a 30 in the fourth group, Omega’s code for a chronograph wound by hand.
On the wrist
Our size guide lists the Dark Side of the Moon at 44.25 mm among the watches for wrists over 19 cm. Keep the ceramic case away from hard knocks and, as with any mechanical watch, away from magnets.
Water
A Speedmaster stays on dry land. Rain and a splash at the sink do no harm, but a dip in the sea or a shower is too much for it.
Ordering
Within 3-5 business days of payment the team emails photos and a short video of this exact watch, and it ships only after your OK. If it has been sitting in a drawer and has stopped, 20-30 turns of the crown bring it back. The Omega box set is a separate purchase.
